Darwin Horan Sturms sisters fueling Lutheran's track team as state approaches PARKER — The development was neither surprising nor shocking in an era when many private high schools have shut down or been relocated from Denver to the suburbs. Denver Lutheran High School, long a fixture on the southwest side of the city, shut down after the 2010-11 academic year, and some of its students moved to the newer Lutheran High Parker. The consolidation of the two Colorado Lutheran High School Association schools was traumatic for some, but one benefit was the strengthening of athletic programs. That will be evident at the state track and field championships Thursday through Saturday at Jeffco Stadium in Lakewood. The Lutheran Lions will be among the team favorites in Class 2A girls and are expected to get major contributions from star sprinter Kendall Horan and at least one relay team joining her with three sisters — senior Taylor Sturms, junior Jordyn Sturms and freshman Chandler Sturms. Individually, Horan has the top 2A times in the state in the 100 and 200 meters, and is second in the 400. Taylor Sturms ranks second in the 100 and fourth in the 200. The sisters don't look like triplets, and, in fact, it wouldn't be surprising if spectators assume Horan is one of the three sisters on the relay team. Went out on May 5th and shot about sixteen minutes of video showing a gorgeous full moon behind a sexy partly clouded sky. Look for a surprise at about the 2 minute 39 second mark! (Another piece with replays of it is in my other videos.) Had no plan of what to do with it then, just wanted to shoot it. This is the first thing I could think of to do with the footage, showing the 12 clips of AVI video filmed, each sped up to 4x fast-forward, and arranged in the sequential order in which they were filmed, totaling a 3 minute 28 second duration. Totally arbitrary and done as a process rather than specific creative decisions. When contemplating what audio to color it with I searched my iTunes directory by time length of songs and realized this Frippertronics piece was almost a perfect match at 3 minutes 36 seconds. With two simple title cards the total length runs 3 minutes 48 seconds. The choice of audio was more or less arbitrary, I could have searched for an electronic/ambient recording of similar length but just happen to groove on Frippertronics. However I do not consider this one of my more formalized Frippertronics video pieces, just a demonstration piece to show one of the projects I'm currently working on. No infringement intended, and in an effort to protect the interests of the original recording artist I created a fold-down monural version of the composition chosen.
