Dragon Born - A short film inspired by Skyrim
Sky the Dragon Born fight her way across her homeland, battling Shamans and Dragons. This is a short film inspired by the recent game, Skyrim from the Elder Scrolls series. Probebly my biggest production to date, this film was a huge collabrative effort by all involved and I'm forever grateful to the friends who helped bring this idea to life. Firstly, this film would not have been possible without Tabitha and Nick from Artyfakes Action Props. It was their Skyrim inspired Armour that started this whole thing. Their skills in prop making are on show for all to see in this video, so please do check them out and friend them on Facebook. www.artyfakes.co.uk www.facebook.com Secondly to Robert Powell of Vision Air who did the aerial videography. You were a joy to work with and the shots you got really lift this short film to another level entirely. Check them out here; www.visionair-uk.com Also thanks to djmaetness for granting me permission to use his Skyrim inspired music track in this short film, check out his channel and Subscribe here; www.youtube.com Cast; Sky the Dragon Born - Tabitha Lyons Briar Heart Shaman - Jonathan Hutton Script, Filming, Directing, Editing etc all by me, Andrew Dobell www.andrewdobell.co.uk Subscribe to be notified of further films.

Olivier Messiaen - Transports de Joie (Jean-Claude Raynaud, Saint Sernin, Toulouse)
Olivier Messiaen - Transports de Joie (Jean-Claude Raynaud, Saint Sernin, Toulouse)
This is the last of three pieces by the blind Parisian organist Jean Langlais (1907-1991), pupil of and successor to Charles Tournemire at Saint Clotilde, which form the suite "Hommage à Rameau" (referring to the French Classical composer Jean-Philippe Rameau): the work, which originally consisted of six movements, only two of which were included in the final published score in the late 1980s, was commissioned by the French Minister for Fine Arts, André Malraux, to commemorate the bicentenary of Rameau's death. This recording is taken from an old 1970 LP - long out of print - called "Modern French Organ Music" which was recorded by Jean-Claude Raynaud (b.1937) at the Basilica of Saint Sernin in Toulouse. This recording is doubly interesting in that it gives an insight into the sound of the 1888 Cavaillé-Coll organ at Saint-Sernin before the somewhat controversial restoration of 1996-97. I do not seek to take sides in that particular debate and ask that you please refrain from stirring up further controversy. Enjoy the music! A particular thank you must go to American theatre organist Lew Williams (of the Organ Stop Pizza restaurant, Mesa, Arizona, with its four-manual, 78-rank Wurlitzer), who sent me this fantastic recording. Details of the organ can be found here: mypipeorganhobby.blogspot.co.uk

60% of new citizens feel NS is not an important indicator of integration to S'pore - 21May2012
60% of new citizens feel NS is not an important indicator of integration to S'pore - 21May2012
SINGAPORE: A new study has placed National Service (NS) as a key indicator of integration for foreigners. The report by the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) seeks to examine what immigrants ought to do in order to be regarded as a full participating member of Singapore society. The study covered some 2000 local and foreign born citizens. Half of the new citizens got their citizenship just 10 years ago or earlier. They were asked several questions on what they thought were social markers of integration. Such as - should a new citizen be gainfully employed, complete NS or be married to a local - to be seen as a Singaporean? The study showed some perceptual gaps, which researchers said are cause for fault-lines within the community. The biggest area of incongruence - that the son of a new citizen undergoes NS. About 70 per cent of Singaporeans feel it is an important indicator of integration, while only about 40 per cent of new citizens think so. IPS said about a third of them choose not to do so. Research Fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies, Dr Leong Chan-Hoong, said: "Of course, there are consequences to the NS-liable Permanent Resident who skip NS. "So for example, they won't be granted a work visa or be considered for a permanent residency application again in the future. "But the hard truth is that while they are a PR in Singapore, they would have enjoyed all the benefit, all the privileges of being a PR and then when it comes to the time for them to perform <b>...</b>

The making of City Park, Bradford
The making of City Park, Bradford
Film showing from start to finish the construction and launch of City Park, Bradford's world class public space measuring six-acres (the equivalent of four football pitches). City Park includes a 4000sq m mirror pool with more than 100 fountains including the tallest in any UK city (30m, 100ft), sculptures and an interactive laser light public artwork. The park has been created by Bradford Council to help link major visitor attractions including the National Media Museum, the Alhambra Theatre and St George's Hall, the city's transport hub (Bradford Interchange train, bus and coach station and Forster Square train station) as well as city centre retail outlets. It is a flexible space for people to enjoy, being big enough to provide a tranquil environment for those who want to rest and relax, while accommodating people participating in activities and play. City Park has been designed to attract visitors into the Bradford district from across the UK. It connects the city centre, enhances the overall image of the city and helps create a landscape for investment. City Park will set Bradford apart from other cities and is a key component of the city's regeneration. For more information, visit www.bradford.gov.uk/citypark
